CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines – The chief of police of Famy town in Laguna has been relieved from his post over a sexual harassment complaint by a policewoman.
Philippine National Police chief Director General Ricardo Marquez ordered the relief of Senior Inspector Rex Langkay on Tuesday.
Senior Inspector Henry Villagonzalo, former Pagsanjan police chief, replaced Langkay, said Senior Superintendent Florendo Saligao, Laguna police director.
Senior Inspector Vincent Jarque, former Alaminos police chief, replaced Villagonzalo.
Langkay has been assigned to the provincial holding unit while the police Regional Investigation Division conducts a pre-charge evaluation for grave misconduct.
Saligao said the alleged sexual harassment occurred in Langkay’s office on July 22.
The complainant said she was surprised to see Langkay without underwear when she was summoned to his office.
Langkay could not be reached for comment.
