Mild quake jolts Masbate
MANILA, Philippines - A magnitude 3.3 earthquake rocked Masbate yesterday but did not cause any damage, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
The epicenter of the quake, which was recorded at 2:51 a.m., was eight kilometers northeast of Mobo town, Phivolcs said.
The quake was felt at Intensity 3 in Masbate City and Intensity 2 in Barangay Batuan in Ticao Island.
Phivolcs said the quake had a depth of seven kilometers and was tectonic in origin. Tectonic pertains to the movement of the earth’s crust.
