27 hurt as jeep falls into Angono ravine

MANILA, Philippines - Around 27 persons were injured after the passenger jeepney they were riding fell into a ravine in Angono,Rizal Friday early dawn.
Angono police chief Senior Superintendent Lucilo Laguna said that that of the 27 passengers hurt during the accident, only one is still confined at the Angono General Hospital.
Most of the victims sustained bruises and contusions, police said.
Initial investigation showed that the passenger jeepney (UVF-122) was travelling along Domsa Road, Barangay San Isidro, Angono around 3:30 a.m. when the driver lost control of the steering wheel at a sharp curve and fell into a 35-foot deep ravine.
The driver of the jeepney, which came from Antipolo City, reportedly fled the scene after the accident.
