Couple slain in Abra ambush

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines – Police have launched a manhunt for the killers of a couple in Barangay Namit-ingan in Dolores, Abra Monday night.

Rigo Tordil, a retired lineman of the Abra Electric Cooperative, and his wife, Lilia, had just arrived home around 9 p.m. when unidentified men on a motorcycle fired at them, Dolores police chief Senior Inspector Melchor Burgos said on Tuesday.

Investigators recovered bullet shells for an M16 rifle and 12-gauge shotgun at the scene.
