3 die in Sibugay fire

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines – Three persons died in a fire that destroyed some P1 million worth of property in Ipil town in Zamboanga Sibugay at dawn yesterday.

The names of the fatalities were not immediately available.

The fire broke out at about 2:40 a.m. in Purok Amelita, Barangay Ipil Heights and destroyed three houses.

The blaze reportedly started at the house of a certain Lizelda Obida, where the remains of the three victims were recovered, said Inspector Dahlan Samuddin, spokesman for the Police Regional Office 9.

Police have yet to determine the cause of the blaze.
