Central Luzon youths to get free TESDA training
MANILA, Philippines - Over 21,000 youths from three provinces in Central Luzon can take up technical vocational courses for free.
Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) chief Joel Villanueva yesterday said they have allotted P159.76 million for the project.
Villanueva said P58.24 million would be made available for 7,952 scholars in Bulacan, P69.65 million for 9,528 scholars in Nueva Ecija and P31.86 million for 3,954 scholars in Tarlac.
He said the scholarship would be implemented through Training for Work Program, Private Education Student Financial Assistance, Special Training for Employment Program and Bottom-Up Budgeting.
“We want the youth of Central Luzon to take the lead in pushing the growth of their respective provinces. Through their skills, they can get employed, improve the living condition of their families and their communities,” Villanueva said.
“This only means investments, jobs, and progress for our people,” he added.
At least 2,000 graduates of tech-voc courses in Bulacan recently received starter toolkits to help them get employed.
