2 killed, 6 hurt in Quezon road mishaps

CAMP GUILLERMO NAKAR, Lucena, Philippines  – Two persons were killed and six others were injured in separate road accidents in Gumaca and Calauag towns in Quezon on Wednesday.

Kristine Cervantes, 14, and Wewen Magallones died at the scene when a Mitsubishi Montero driven by Rodger Madrona, 46, slid and crashed into a tree along the Maharlika Highway in Barangay Calumangin.

Senior Superintendent Ronaldo Genaro Ylagan, Quezon police director, said Nelson Lustre,40; Angela Luna, 11; and Marie Hayacenth Guadalupe, 6, were brought to the Gumaca District Hospital. 

In Calauag town, a private jeepney (DJD-885) collided with a 10-wheeler truck (ZES-469) before it hit an Isuzu Elf, (RFP-167).

Jeepney passengers Roberto Leomo, Edwin Lopez and Rogelio Sulit, all residents of Camarines Sur were confined at St. Peter Hospital.
