SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union, Philippines – This city and the towns of Bauang and San Juan will experience a nine-hour blackout tomorrow.
The power interruption set from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. is due to the upgrading of the 69-kiloVolt line along Bauang and San Fernando, Lilibeth Gaydowen, National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP) public affairs officer, said yesterday.
An 11-hour power outage is also scheduled tomorrow in San Jose City and Carranglan and Pantabangan towns in Nueva Ecija.
NGCP information officer Ernest Lorenz Vidal said the power outage from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. would facilitate the replacement of wood poles, cross arms and insulators along the Muñoz-Pantabangan 69kV line segment.
Aliaga, Talavera, portions of Sto. Domingo, Quezon, Licab, Guimba, Talugtog and Lupao towns and the Science City of Muñoz will have no electricity from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
The power outage will facilitate the opening and closing of the air brake switch to isolate and reconnect those affected by replacement of wood poles, cross arms and insulators along the Muñoz-Pantabangan 69kV line.
