CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga, Philippines – A government prosecutor and his driver were wounded in an ambush by four motorcycle-riding men in San Miguel, Bulacan Monday.

Antonio Buan, 61, and his driver Obet Castillo, 51, were in a Toyota Innova (SKW-402) on their way to San Jose del Monte City when they were waylaid in Barangay Sta. Rita Matanda, according to a report submitted to Chief Superintendent Ronald Santos, officer-in-charge of the Police Regional Office 3.

Buan suffered gunshot wounds in the arms and legs while Castillo was hit in the head. They were taken to the Bulacan Medical Center for treatment.

Buan’s daughter, Ma. Concepcion, was unhurt in the attack, Senior Superintendent Ferdinand Divina, Bulacan police director, said.

Divina said the suspects boarded a Hyundai Tucson and fled toward San Rafael town, leaving behind their motorcycles.

Investigators recovered 26 bullet shells for a caliber .45 pistol at the crime scene. Another caliber .45 pistol and bullets were found in the victim’s vehicle.

Police recovered the suspects’ motorcycles, a Yamaha Mio Amore (RO-6708) and a Honda Wave with no license plates.
