2 slain in Laguna gun attack

LAGUNA, Philippines  – Two pedicab drivers were shot dead by motorcycle-riding men in San Pedro City here Sunday.

Ronald Ramos, 23, and Raymond Sadian, 29, were declared dead on arrival at the Amante Hospital, Superintendent Cecilio Ramos Ison, city police chief, said.

Ramos died from six gunshot wounds in the body while Sadian was hit in the back.

Sadian’s brother, Ruel, 31, was taken to the Ospital ng Muntinlupa for treatment of a gunshot wound in the abdomen.

Ison said Ramos and the Sadian brothers were playing a game of dice in Barangay Lanadyan when they were shot at around 1:45 p.m.

Investigators recovered eight bullet shells for a caliber .45 pistol. They are eyeing drugs as the motive for the killing.

Senior Superintendent Florendo Saligao, Laguna police director, said probers have identified the suspects, but withheld their names until after their arrests.
