Rhodina Villanueva - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - More than 1,000 residents including 72 agrarian reform program beneficiaries in Eastern Samar will benefit from a road project recently turned over to the municipal government of San Julian.

The 2.4-kilometer road worth P15 million in Barangay Casoroy will hasten travel and transport of farm produce to the town proper.

The project was funded by the Asian Development Bank and the municipal government, Sheila Enciso,  regional director of the Department of Agrarian Reform, said.

Mayor Ezekiel Fritz Aseo said farmers and residents used to travel for hours in a banca to reach the town proper.

Aseo said with the road project, it would take only minutes for the residents to reach the town.
