Village chief hurt in ambush

CAMARINES NORTE, Philippines – A barangay chairman was wounded in an attack by unidentified gunmen in Pamplona town, Camarines Sur Thursday night.
Domingo Briones was on his way home from a fiesta when the assailants shot him in Barangay Tambo at around 11:20 p.m.
Briones was listed in critical condition at the Mother Seton Hospital in Naga City, where he was rushed after the attack, said town police chief Senior Inspector Joel Sabuco.
