CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga, Philippines – Police have launched a manhunt for a retired US Navy man accused of killing his wife and taking his two-year-old son in Barangay Balibago, Angeles City on Thursday.
Enrique Angeles, 57, a resident of Diamond Subdivision, allegedly shot dead his wife Mylene after an altercation, Angeles City police director Senior Superintendent Eden Ugale said in a report to Chief Superintendent Ronald Santos, Police Regional Office-3 officer-in-charge.
Ugale said the couple’s 12-year-old son reported the incident to the police.
The boy told police that he heard a gunshot from his parents’ room and when he checked, saw his mother slumped on the floor. He said he also saw his father holding a gun as he emerged from the bathroom.
Responding policemen said the suspect had fled in a tricycle. They rescued the couple’s other son, aged 10 months, and brought him and his sibling to the social welfare office. – Ric Sapnu, Ding Cervantes
