BACOLOD CITY, Philippines – Homicide charges have been filed against a man for allegedly raping and killing his aunt in Barangay Alangilan here.
The charges against Eric Alibare, 26, of Barangay Granada, was filed with the city prosecutor’s office on Monday, Inspector Armilyn Vargas, officer-in-charge of the city police’s women and children protection desk, said.
Vargas said Alibare, who was released from detention, was given 10 days to answer the complaint filed against him by the family of his aunt, Ana Torrea, 45.
Last week Alibare was found naked and unconscious on top of the victim’s body. The woman, who was also naked, had a wound in the forehead.
The suspect and the victim were last seen having a drinking spree with four other persons near the woman’s house.
Alibare denied raping and killing his aunt. He said he was under the influence of liquor when the police found him.
