Rainier Allan Ronda - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Some 116 families of the Badjao tribe who lost their homes during the Zamboanga City siege have been provided houses on stilts.

Zamboanga City Mayor Ma. Isabelle Climaco and Social Welfare and Development assistant secretary Vilma Cabrera witnessed the turnover ceremony on Wednesday.

The houses were built on a 3.5-hectare water area in Barangay Taluksangay, Zamboanga City. The National Housing Authority said beneficiaries will also get P10,000 in financial aid.

The housing project is part of the Zamboanga Roadmap to Recovery and Reconstruction.
