Ed Amoroso - The Philippine Star

LAGUNA, Philippines – Police have launched a manhunt for a man accused of killing his 60-year-old father after an altercation in Barangay Prinza in Calauan town on Tuesday afternoon, authorities said yesterday.

Demetrio Lalog was pronounced dead on arrival in a hospital from a gunshot to the head, according to Inspector Roselle Orate, spokesperson for the Laguna police.

Chief Inspector Luis Perez, Calauan town police chief, said the shooting occurred after Nomer Lalog, 40, confronted Demetrio for allegedly destroying his tricycle that was parked in front their house.

Initial investigation showed that the victim’s wife tried to pacify the two, but Nomer suddenly shot his father.
