Sacks of pebbles seized off Batangas

Evelyn Macairan - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - More than 700 sacks of pebbles with an estimated value of P500,000 have been seized by the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) in Batangas.

Reports from the PCG Batangas station said the shipment was intercepted as it was being transported from Masbate to Sibuyan in Romblon, according to an advisory issued yesterday.

The sacks of pebbles were loaded in vehicles of WM Trucking, reportedly owned by a certain Wilard Marin Robis of Sugod Cajidocan, Romblon.

Batangas-PCG chief Capt. Gregorio Adel said the sacks of pebbles were turned over to the Department of Environment and Natural Resources.
