2 gunmen nabbed over QC store helper's murder

MANILA, Philippines - Police arrested two suspected gun for hire responsible for the shooting dead a store helper in Quezon City Wednesday afternoon.
Quezon City Police District director Joel Pagdilao on Thursday presented to the media Mark De Vera, 24, of Barangay Calumpang, Binangonan, Rizal; and Salvador Furio, 27, of Langkaan 2 Dasmariñas, Cavite.
The two men have been tagged as the ones responsible for the killing of Michael Marcelo, 25, a sales boy at Aconda Store in Barangay East Kamias, Quezon City.
Investigation showed that around 5:30 p.m. last Wednesday, the victim was tending to customers of the store when De Vera approached and fired two successive shots, hitting Marcelo's abdomen.
De Vera and Furio, who served as lookout, casually left on foot toward the Cubao area.
Authorities managed to capture both men hours later the shooting.
Police seized from suspects two handguns, cellular phones and a belt bag containing some identification cards.
The two are now facing murder and illegal gun raps.
