4 dead in Pasay fire

MANILA, Philippines - Four persons, including a nine-year-old girl, were killed during a fire that broke out Monday dawn, destroying around 300 houses in Pasay City.
Initial reports said that firefighters recovered the bodies of Nida Lacaimat, her son Ramil and daughter-in-law Dana and her grandchild Cindy around 9 a.m. in Barangay 201, Merville Access Road, Pasay.
The fire started around 4 a.m. Firemen managed to put it out four hours later.
Arson investigators placed the cost of damage to property at P1.5 million.
Around 900 families in the area were rendered homeless as the flames razed their houses to the ground. They are now temporarily staying at a nearby gym.
Arson investigators are still looking into the cause of the fire.
