LEGAZPI CITY, Philippines – Suspected New People’s Army rebels gunned down a retired police official outside his house in Barangay Belete, Bacon District in Sorsogon City on Thursday.
Retired Senior Inspector Augorio Coranes, 70, was shot at close range while watering his flower garden with his wife at 9:30 a.m., according to a report reaching Camp General Simeon Ola here.
Witnesses said the gunmen casually walked away and boarded a motorcycle that sped toward Sitio Gabao in Barangay San Roque.
