CIDG agent gunned down

MALOLOS, Philippines – A civilian agent of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) was shot dead by motorcycle-riding men here yesterday. 

Joel Lim, 39, was driving a motorcycle along Blas Ople Road in Barangay Bulihan when two men on separate motorcycles shot at him at around 12:30 a.m.

The chase ended in front of a restaurant where Lim fell due to several gunshot wounds. Investigators recovered bullet shells for calibers .45 and 22 pistols.

Mayor Christian Natividad confirmed to journalists that Lim was a civilian agent of the CIDG.
