MANILA, Philippines - A town police chief and his deputy were killed after a disgruntled policeman lobbed a grenade at them in Bukidnon Monday night.

The blast instantly killed Senior Inspector Crisanto Molina, chief of the Cabanglasan police, and his deputy commander, Inspector Dexter Garcia.

The police officers were attending a birthday celebration in Barangay Poblacion around 7:20 p.m. when Police Officer 1 Gorospe Cairo went out and returned with a grenade which he threw at the victims.

Gorospe was reportedly one of the two policemen who was tested positive for drug use earlier that day. He was disarmed by Molina after the results of the drug test.
