Mild quakes hit S. Luzon, parts of Visayas, Davao

MANILA, Philippines - Mild earthquakes shook parts of the Visayas and Southern Luzon yesterday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said. 

The tremors of magnitudes 3.7 and 3.2 struck at 27 kilometers southeast of Catarman, Northern Samar and 10 km northeast of Palanan, Masbate at 12:38 a.m. and 5:27 a.m., respectively. 

Phivolcs said the first quake was felt at Intensity 2 in Catarman while the other at Intensity 1 in Palanan. 

Quakes with magnitudes of 3.2 and 2.9 were also recorded in Calatagan, Batangas and Davao City at 1:44 a.m. and 12:02 p.m., respectively.
