35 C. Luzon police chiefs face ouster
CABANATUAN CITY, Philippines – At least 35 police station commanders in Central Luzon, representing 27 percent of police station commanders in the region, will be relieved from their posts.
These officials face ouster for various reasons, including unsatisfactory performance, negligence, retirement and completion of their tour of duty, Chief Superintendent Ronald Santos, deputy regional director for administration and concurrent officer-in-charge of the Philippine National Police-Regional Office 3 (PNP-PRO3), said.
“For each province, my estimate is that an average of four to five police station commanders will go,” Santos said.
PNP-PRO 3 covers 116 municipalities, 11 component cities and two highly urbanized cities in Aurora, Bataan, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Tarlac and Zambales.
Santos did not identify the police officials to be affected by the revamp pending the result of a performance audit.
He said police chiefs whose appointments were rejected by mayors and those who have served for 10 years also face ouster. – With Ric Sapnu
