P3.6-M marijuana plants torched

LA TRINIDAD, Benguet, Philippines – At least P3.6 million worth of marijuana plants were uprooted and destroyed by the Cordillera police and agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency following a raid on six plantations in Kapangan town in this province and in Santol, La Union last Thursday.

Police officers raided the marijuana plantations in the villages of Gadang and Sayangan, both in Kapangan and nearby Sapda-an in Santol.

No one, however, was arrested during the operations.

Earlier, police officers also uprooted and torched several millions worth of marijuana plants in Kayapa and Bakun, both in Benguet.
