2 dead in Pampanga mishap

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga, Philippines – A man and his girlfriend died while the woman’s seven-year-old daughter survived when their car collided with an armored car in San Fernando City, Pampanga, Sunday.

Jaime Manalang, 47, and Cristina Nulud, 47, died while undergoing treatment at the Mt. Carmel Hospital, where they were taken along with Shania Dhane Nulud for treatment, said Superintendent Rechie Duldulao, San Fernando City police chief.

The victims were in a Toyota Corolla (PNY-537) when Manalang, who was driving, allegedly tried to overtake another vehicle along MacArthur Highway in Barangay Telabastagan.

The victim’s car smashed into an armored car (UUF-476) driven by Joselito Caliway.

Security guard Wilfredo Diola, 34, who was in the armored car, suffered injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
