3 charged over Zambo car bomb attack

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines – Murder and frustrated murder charges have been filed against three suspected accomplices of an Abu Sayyaf bandit who set off a car bomb in this city last Friday.

The charges were filed Monday against Hadja Babylyn Jul Ismael Muallam, Isharly Muallam and Aldamer Sahibuddin with the city prosecutor’s office, said Superintendent Ariel Huesca, spokesman for the city police.

Huesca said the suspects were initially invited for questioning Friday night hours after a car bomb exploded near a bus terminal in Barangay Guiwan.

Two persons were killed while 54 others were wounded in the incident.

The three were found at a house in Barangay San Roque, where the bomber allegedly assembled the improvised explosive device.
