2 barangay kagawads fall in Ilocos, Bohol drug ops

MANILA, Philippines - Authorities arrested two barangay kagawads during separate anti-illegal drugs operations in Bohol and Ilocos Sur.
The PDEA said the first to fall was Wenceslao Ramonida, 46, an incumbent kagawad of Barangay Abelihan, San Isidro, Bohol.
Belated reports showed that last Jan. 19, around 5:30 a.m., joint elements of PDEA Regional Office 7- Bohol Provincial Office San Isidro Police Station and Provincial Public Safety Company-Bohol Provincial Police Office raided Ramonida's house.
Armed with a search warrant, operatives seized Ramonida were six sachets containing suspected shabu, three aluminum tin foils, three disposable lighters, a cellular phone, and P600 cash.
Ramonida will be charged for violation of Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), and Section 12 (Possession of Equipment and Other Paraphernalia for Dangerous Drugs), Article II of RA 9165, or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Meanwhile, later that afternoon, operatives nabbed Rogelio Limbo, 42, kagawad of Barangay Paratong, Sta. Lucia, Ilocos Sur during a sting operation in Barangay Barangubong.
Limbo's companion, Alex Bilog, also a barangay kagawad, eluded arrest after sensing the policemen.
Limbo yielded five sachets containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu, various drug paraphernalia and two P500 bills used as marked money. He will face charges for violation of Sections 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs), 11, and 12, Article II of RA 9165.
Bilog, who is at-large, will be charged for violation of Sections 5 and 26 (Conspiracy to Sell Dangerous Drugs).
