MANILA, Philippines - Performing artists covered with mud will march around noon today to the Apostolic Nunciature in Manila to welcome Pope Francis' arrival in the country.
Members of the Sining Bugkos Tindog People's Network will converge at the Saint Anthony's Church at the corner of San Andres and Singalong streets, before proceeding to the Apostolic Nunciator along Taft Avenue.
The members of the group, who will be covered with mud to dramatize the plight after Yolanda, will then send a letter of appeal to the Pope, urging the head of the Catholic faithful to help survivors of supertyphoon Yolanda to get justice and accountability from government officials.
The group's "mud walk" will be staged from San Andres Street to Taft Avenue, amid the tight security measures being implemented by the authorities for the pope's visit.
The pope, who will visit the Yolanda survivors in Eastern Visayas is expected to arrived in Manila around 5:45 p.m.
