TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines – Marijuana plants and paraphernalia with a street value of P70 million were destroyed in Kibungan, Benguet on Tuesday.

Around 80,000 marijuana plants were uprooted in a 13,000-square meter plantation in Sitios Takip and Dalipey in Barangay Tacadang during a three-day operation, said Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Cordillera director Donald Allan Ricardo.

PDEA operatives also burned hydraulic jacks, weighing scales and other paraphernalia used to make marijuana bricks.

In Lagawe, Ifugao, police arrested a person ranked second on their list of drug personalities in a sting in Barangay Poblacion South.

Ifugao police director Senior Superintendent John Colinio told The STAR operatives seized eight sachets of shabu worth P50,000 from Mhar Jade Tameyao alias “Matet,” 24, a resident of Bagabag, Nueva Vizcaya.
