Man dies saving daughter

CAMARINES NORTE, Philippines – A 49-year-old man died while trying to save his daughter from getting electrocuted in the town of Daet here Saturday.

Ernesto Diaz was declared dead on arrival at the Camarines Norte Provincial Hospital after he accidentally touched a live wire dangling from a post of the Camarines Norte Electric Cooperative in Barangay Alawihao.

Reports said the victim’s daughter, Evelyn, 17, was hanging clothes on a wire attached to the post, when she got electrocuted.

Ernesto ran to Evelyn’s rescue, but he, too, was electrocuted.

Evelyn was brought to the same hospital for treatment.
