CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga, Philippines – An American and his Filipina girlfriend were found dead in an apartment in Angeles City last Saturday.
Robin Allan Potter, 67, was found in the bathroom on the ground floor, while Evangeline de Villar was in the bedroom on the second floor, with her hands tied to the bed, said city police director Senior Superintendent Eden Ugale.
De Villar’s body bore 21 stabbed wounds while Potter had 11, said medico legal officer Chief Inspector Reynaldo Dave Jr.
Ugale said an empty box that looked like a vault was found on a table downstairs. A plastic sachet said to contain marijuana was found in the drawer of the table.
De Villar’s mother Erlinda said her daughter’s phone, iPad, laptop and wallet were missing.
On Jan. 10, Erlinda and her husband Rolando, both of Bulacan, asked the Angeles City police Station 3 to verify if their daughter was in her apartment in Barangay Pulung Maragul.
The couple told police that Evangeline was not replying to their text messages and her phone could not be contacted since Jan. 5.
Police are eyeing robbery as motive for the killings.
