MILF member nabbed for gun

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines – A member of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) was arrested here Friday for alleged gun possession. 

Erwin Sawardi, 18, was collared at a bus terminal in Barangay Guiwan when a civilian noticed a gun tucked on his waist, said Senior Inspector Dahlan Samuddin, spokesperson for the Police Regional Office 9.

A caliber .45 pistol was seized from Sawardi by Senior Police Officer 2 Marianito Gudiz, PO3 Edwin Javelosa and PO1 Eduardo Rosete, who were patrolling near the terminal.

Sawardi was brought to the city police Station 5 in Barangay Divisoria. He claimed he was a member of the MILF.
