Two killed, 2 hurt in Iloilo road mishap

MANILA, Philippines - Two persons were killed and two others were injured when a 10-wheeler truck collided with a truck loaded with sugarcane in Passi City, Iloilo on Wednesday.

Michael Jan Mandelejo, 21, a resident of Barangay Bulay, and a 17-year-old boy identified only as Cocoy, died when they were pinned between the two vehicles, according to Superintendent Hector Maestral, Passi City police chief.

Truck passengers Harold Masesado, 29, and Rexie Mandelejo, 21, suffered minor injuries.

Maestral said the driver of the truck parked the vehicle by the roadside because one of the passengers wanted to relieve himself when the 10-wheeler truck hit it.
