BACOLOD City, Philippines – Victims of Super Typhoon Yolanda in the second district of Negros Occidental will receive P537 million in housing assistance from the national government.
Yolanda victims whose houses were destroyed or damaged by the typhoon will receive P30,000 and P10,000, respectively, according to Mayors Patrick Escalante of Cadiz City, Alfredo Marañon III of Sagay City and Lourdes Escalante of Manapla.
Cadiz City will get the biggest allocation at P304 million; Sagay City, P104 million; and Manapla, P93 million.
Escalante said 4,500 houses were destroyed and 17,000 others damaged in the city.
A total of 3,000 houses were destroyed and 5,000 others were damaged in Sagay while 1,101 houses were destroyed and 6,000 damaged in Manapla.
