Boulder hits tourists; 1 dead, 3 hurt

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga, Philippines – A man died and three of his companions were injured when they were hit by a boulder while visiting Capones Island in Barangay Pundakit, San Antonio, Zambales on Thursday.

A boulder that was as big as a car fell from a cliff and hit the victims, pinning Ronnie Echavez. His body was recovered at around 3 p.m. the next day, Zambales police director Senior Superintendent Manuel Abu said in a report.

Michael Bumanglag, 29, a resident of Barangay San Miguel, San Antonio, Zambales; Judy Ann Vergara, 18, and Rodel Alison, 22, from Metro Manila, were brought to the San Marcelino District Hospital.
