Baguio temperature drops to 11.8°C

MANILA, Philippines - The temperature in Baguio City fell to 11.8 degrees Celsius yesterday, the coldest since the onset of the northeast monsoon or amihan last October, the state weather bureau said.

The lowest temperature was recorded at 5 a.m., according to Robert Sawi, senior weather forecaster of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration.

PAGASA said Baguio’s lowest recorded temperature was at 6.3 degrees Celsius on Jan. 18, 1961.

In Metro Manila, the lowest temperature yesterday was recorded at 22.5 degrees Celsius at 2 a.m. It was higher than the 19 degrees Celsius recorded on Christmas Day, the lowest since October in Metro Manila. 

PAGASA said the lowest temperature recorded in Metro Manila was 15.1 degrees Celsius on Feb. 4, 1987 and Dec. 30, 1988.
