2 dead in stabbings in Pangasinan
MANGATAREM, Pangasinan, Philippines – A wedding guest and a man playing basketball were stabbed dead in separate incidents here and in Bani town on Saturday.
Benjamin La Torre, 54, a resident of Barangay Malabobo here died from stab wounds allegedly inflicted by Ernesto Rasos, 30, a resident of Barangay Sabit, Cuyapo, Nueva Ecija.
Investigation showed that La Torre was drinking and taking his turn at the videoke when a fight erupted after Rasos arrived at the wedding party and threw the microphone. Rasos allegedly stabbed La Torre with a bladed weapon.
La Torre was pronounced dead on arrival at the Mangatarem District Hospital. Rasos was arrested.
In Bani town, William Dialaino, a resident of Barangay San Miguel, was stabbed dead allegedly by Segundo dela Cruz with a nine-inch knife after an altercation during a basketball game.
Dialaino suffered multiple stab wounds in the head. He died at the Western Pangasinan District Hospital in Alaminos City.
Dela Cruz fled and is now the subject of a manhunt.
