MANILA, Philippines - Three children drowned after they jumped into a river for a swim in Cavite province on Sunday.
Authorities retrieved the bodies of Apple Tabanan, 4; her sister Raine, 7; and their cousin Jasmine Tabanan, 6.
The three jumped into Ylang-ylang River in Noveleta town, Sunday afternoon.
One of the children's companions, April, called for help from a security guard in a nearby store but they could no longer locate the victims in the 20-foot deep river.
Authorities have decided to build a fence around the river to prevent people from taking a swim.
