5-foot python surfaces at PNP headquarters

MANILA, Philippines - A five foot-long python was captured Friday dawn inside the Philippine National Police (PNP) national headquarters in Camp Crame, Quezon City.
A radio report said that snake, which weighed 15 kilograms, was discovered slithering near a mango tree adjacent the controversial "White House" residence of the PNP chief inside the police camp around 4:30 a.m.
Cops readily cornered and captured the python using a man-lifter, the report added.
Police turned over the reptile, which came out of its lair to hunt for food, to the Department of Environment and Natural Resources - Parks and Wildlife Center for safekeeping.
