Quake hits parts of Eastern Visayas

MANILA, Philippines - A magnitude – 5.5 earthquake hit parts of Eastern Visayas yesterday but no damage or injury was reported, state seismologists said.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the tremor occurred at 8:25 a.m. Its epicenter was located 79 kilometers northeast of Hernani town in Eastern Samar.
It was felt at Intensity 1 in Tacloban City in Leyte and Catbalogan City in Samar.
Phivolcs said no aftershocks were expected from the quake.
