BAGUIO CITY, Philippines – Fifteen persons were injured when a truck loaded with liquefied petroleum gas tanks rammed 15 vehicles along Kennon Road in Barangay Poliwes here Saturday night.
Among those brought to the Baguio General Hospital for treatment were truck driver Jose Paguli, Soledad Bulgan Colpita, Marites Villareal Esmabe, Hanna Aguinaldo Aparri, Mary Grace Lopez Dulay, Eden Molintas, Riza Musico, Wynn Melody Sumalbag Aguinaldo, Mary Anne Leganio Sacla, Jessica Bayo Cayat, Linda Maranes, Terisita Mariñas Arabis, Carla Dante, and children Lheanne Bayo, 9; Lorgie Daluyen, 8, and Nash Nathaniel Daluyen, 6.
Superintendent Evelio Degay, chief of the city police-traffic management unit, said Paguli might have lost control of the wheel.
Among those hit by the truck were several cars, a taxicab, a passenger jeepney and a mini dump truck, Degay said.
Charges of reckless imprudence resulting in damage to property and multiple physical injuries are being readied against Paguli. – With Raymund Catindig
