Man jumps to death from Iloilo hospital

ILOILO CITY, Philippines – A 27-year-old man jumped to his death from a hospital building in Mandurriao, Iloilo City Sunday.

Levi Alejandro Mondia, of Barangay Libot, Calinog, Iloilo, jumped from the second floor of the Neo-Septic Ward of the Western Visayas Medical Center.

Mondia died while being treated in the hospital’s emergency room.

Shortly before the incident, the victim was seen talking to his sister-in-law about the condition of his wife, who had just given birth.

“Maybe the hospital bills bothered him,” said Chief Inspector Leah Rose Peña, Mandurriao police chief.

Investigators ruled out foul play.
