32 nabbed in Bulacan shabu tiangge
CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga, Philippines – Thirty-two persons were arrested when anti-narcotics agents simultaneously raided eight suspected shabu tiangge or flea markets in Plaridel, Bulacan yesterday.
The raids were based on warrants issued by Bulacan Judge Basilio Gabo Jr. for alleged violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act, said Senior Superintendent Ferdinand Divina, provincial police director.
Most of the suspects were allegedly caught in pot sessions while some were found to be in possession of illegal drugs.
Divina said the raiding teams were accompanied by village officials and journalists when they stormed the suspected drug dens in Barangay Banga 2nd.
He said the team seized an undetermined amount of shabu in plastic sachets, weighing scales, drug paraphernalia, replicas of M-16 rifle and caliber .22 pistol, bladed weapons and two motorcycles believed used in drug trafficking.
Residents reportedly complained about the illegal drug activities in the area.
The suspects are being held at the police station as charges are readied against them.
