MANILA, Philippines - The Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) announced that the Light Rail Transit (LRT), Metro Rail Transit (MRT) and Philippine National Railway (PNR) will shorten its operating hours on Monday as a safety precaution for "Ruby," which has weakened to the storm category.
DOTC spokesperson Miguel Arthur Sagcal released an advisory that the last trip for LRT Line 1 will depart Roosevelt Station at 8 p.m. and Baclaran Station at 8:30 p.m.
The last train for LRT Line 2 will leave Recto Station at 8 p.m. and Santolan Station at 8:30 p.m.
Meanwhile, the southbound MRT Line 3 will depart from North Station at 8:10 p.m. while the last trip for the northbound will leave Taft Station at 7:40 p.m.
The last train of the PNR will leave Tutuban Station at 7:37 p.m. while the southbound service will depart from Alabang Station at 7:50 p.m.
Due to the worsening weather condition, the last train to Alabang will depart at 3:37 p.m., according to PNR.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration earlier announced that "Ruby" has weakened from a typhoon to a storm and is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility by Thursday evening.
