Jeepney falls into cliff; 17 hurt

NORTH COTABATO, Philippines – Seventeen  passengers were injured when a jeepney fell into a cliff along the highway in President Roxas town on Tuesday, police said yesterday.

Investigators said the jeepney, owned by Ali Budzal Abedin, ploughed through the steel railings along the highway before it plunged into the cliff.

The vehicle, which was on its way to Arakan town in North Cotabato from Kidapawan City, went out of control after its brake malfunctioned.

The injured were brought to various hospitals in the town, according to a report by Catholic station dxND.
