4 dead in Cagayan, Pangasinan road accidents

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines – Four men, including a Canadian, died in road accidents in Cagayan and Pangasinan on Tuesday.

Three died after they were run over by a sport utility vehicle when the motorcycle they were riding was hit by another vehicle along the national highway in Barangay Nangalisan, Solana, Cagayan.

Police Officer 1 Bernard Beran identified the fatalities as Marcial Diaz, Steven Peña and Bubut Agustin, all residents of Amulung town.

Reports showed that a Suzuki Vitara driven by Marcelino Balao, 32, ran over the victims when they fell on the road after their motorcycle was hit by another vehicle.

The victims were pronounced dead on arrival at the St. Paul’s Hospital.

In Pangasinan, a citizen of British Columbia, Canada died when a van hit him while he was riding a bicycle along the national highway in Barangay Bila.

Mark Gabriel, 46, was hit by a white Toyota Hi Ace commuter van (AWA-668) driven by Glycerin Jet Viado, 28, a resident of Barangay Sabangan in San Fabian town.

Gabriel was pronounced dead on arrival at the Pozorrubio Community Hospital.
