MANILA, Philippines - A magnitude 6.4 earthquake jolted the town of Kalamansig in Sultan Kudarat yesterday but no damage or injury was reported, state seismologists said.
Renato Solidum, director of the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), said the quake struck 112 kilometers southwest of Kalamansig at 1:11 p.m.
The tremor was felt at Intensity 2 in Bislig City, Surigao del Sur.
There was no tsunami warning.
Solidum said aftershocks were expected, adding the quake was tectonic in origin.
