MMDA asks LTO to revoke Ingco's driver's license

Mike Frialde - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Monday requested the Land Transportation Office (LTO) to revoke the driver’s license of businessman Joseph Ingco, the driver of the blue Maserati Ghibli figured in the alleged mauling last November 27 of a traffic constable in Quezon City.

MMDA assistant general manager for operations Emerson Carlos and MMDA legal counsel Victor Nuñes, personally handed the request letter addressed to LTO assistant secretary  Alfonso Tan Jr. at the LTO office.

“We respectfully request for the immediate revocation of the drivers license of Joseph Russel Innco as we believe that Mr. Ingco’s action  was a clear and blatant disregard of authority and grave abuse of a privilege of being granted a drivers license. A person with such of violent behavior should not allowed to drive on our roads as he is danger not only to traffic enforcers but to other motorist as well,” the MMDA letter signed by Carlos read.

Last Friday, the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) and the MMDA lodged complaints against Ingco before the Quezon City Prosecutor's Office for assaulting MMDA traffic constable Jorbe Adriatico.

Nuñez said complaints filed against Ingco were for direct assault on a person in authority, serious physical injury, grave threat and robbery.
