DAVAO CITY, Philippines – Workers in Southern Mindanao will receive a P5 increase in their cost of living allowance (COLA) starting today.

Jeoffrey Suyao, Labor and Employment regional director, said the increase was part of the second tranche in the minimum wage adjustment as provided under Wage Order No. 18 issued in June this year.

With the new COLA adjustment, workers in the agriculture sector and service and retail establishments with 10 more employees will receive P317 minimum daily wage; P307 for workers in the agricultural sector, and P286 for employees of service and retail establishments with less than 10 workers.
